With nearly 30 years of dance experience and over 15 years of teaching, Hannah Lazenby is a dedicated and passionate dance educator. She holds qualifications with the North British Dance Organisation (NBDO) and has successfully completed associate examinations in Ballet, Tap, and Modern with both the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Associates (NCDTA) and the Associated Board of Dance (ABD). She has also completed her Street Dance Instructors qualification with NCDTA.

Hannah has been the principal of Timestep Dance Academy since 2012, continuing the legacy of her mother, Pauline Lazenby, who founded the academy in 1993. She strongly believes that dance should be accessible to all, regardless of ability, and strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment without placing a financial burden on families.

In addition to her extensive dance background, Hannah is a qualified Early Years Educator, giving her a deep understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This expertise allows her to create age-appropriate classes that nurture young dancers’ physical, cognitive, and social development in a fun and structured way.

Her experience extends beyond the studio—Hannah has performed in and choreographed shows and pantomimes across Northumberland, working with both professional and novice dancers. As an examiner for NBDO and a soon-to-be examiner for NCDTA, she is deeply committed to upholding high standards in dance education. She also frequently adjudicates competitions and festivals throughout the North East, where she enjoys seeing young talent flourish and encouraging dancers to reach their full potential.

Hannah is also highly trained in safety and safeguarding, holding Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work qualifications. She is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the company, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
